JAMESTOWN — Get ready for some fun in the cold, because the Pymatuning Trailblazers Snowmobile Club’s 39th Annual Winter Fun Days returns next month.

This year’s events are Feb. 14 and 15 at the Pymatuning State Park Shelter 4 at the Old Jamestown Beach. Winter Fun Days are held regardless of the weather. There are fire pits outside for warmth during the activities or while visiting with friends and family.

Saturday’s events include:

• 7 to 10 a.m.: Registration for the Ice Fishing Tournament. Sign up at Shelter 4 the day of the tournament at a cost of $30 per entrant, which includes a meal ticket.

Anglers can save money ($20 per entrant, which includes a meal ticket) and preregister at local bait shops in Jamestown: Richters at 2936 Williamsfield Road; in Espyville at Poff’s Place at 10672 Perry Drive; in Andover at Gateway Bait & Tackle at 6517 Route 85.

Measuring takes place from noon to 3:30 p.m. at the shelter. Anglers must be in line for measuring no later than 3 p.m.

• 8 to 11 a.m.: Breakfast will be available for purchase at the shelter.

• 9 to 10:30 a.m.: Raptor watch at the Pymatuning Dam area.

• 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Lunch will be available for purchase at the shelter.

• Noon to 3 p.m.: Free snowmobile rides for children, if a minimum of 4 inches of snow is on the ground (required to ride in the park).

• 1 to 3 p.m.: Snowshoeing.

• 2 p.m.: Guided snowmobile trail ride (minimum of 4 inches of snow) from the shelter.

• 6 p.m.: Events end for the day.

Sunday's events include:

• 8 to 11 a.m.: Breakfast will be available for purchase at the shelter.

• 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Lunch will be available for purchase at the shelter.

• Noon to 3 p.m.: Free snowmobile rides for children, if a minimum of 4 inches of snow is on the ground (required to ride in the park).

• Noon to 3 p.m.: Snowshoeing.

• 2 p.m.: Guided snowmobile trail ride (minimum of 4 inches of snow) from the shelter.

• 4 p.m. Events end.

Other events on both days include a "vintage" snowmobile display, chainsaw wood carver (along with finished carvings for sale), sled-riding hill -- bring your own sled, saucer, tube or use sleds that are provided -- and horse-drawn hay rides.

Prizes, if there are 100 entrants, are given for longest walleye, $350; longest crappie, $250; and longest perch, $150. Winnings will be less if there are fewer than 100 entrants.
